Amazing Colombo Sri Lanka Visit Diary - 1
3rd day,I was received by dear brother Jeewaka who is also the Senior Executive member of SUNFO & also working as a manager with Jlanka at Colombo.It was a first meeting and talk but felt like that we know each other for ages.
We dropped the luggage at hotel and went for lunch hosted in our honor by a Sri Lankan family friends of Dr.deshapriya. It was great having conversation with them followed by delicious lunch.
After lunch I was taken for a city your by Auqif, Habbab and Jashaliya who are university students and SUNFO members at their campuses.
We visited the National Museum, National Theatre, Vihara Maha Devi Park,Council Building, Tall buildings of Colombo including World Trade Centre, Colombo Harbour, Colombo Beach & Galle Face Hotel.We enjoyed travelling by local bus & 3 Wheeler too.
Dr .Deshspriya is not only the most active social soul of Sri Lanka but also a kind hearted person with great sense of humour.He welcomed me in the evening and shared about the details SDGS Walk held at Independent Square Colombo .
Special mutton biryani dinner was served at the best restaurant of Colombo by dear brother Jeewaka & then drop off to the hotel.
4th day,we took part in the SDGS Walk with the Minister of National Integration and Peace Mano Ghaneshan who is a popular politician. It was good to talk to him about the peace work we are doing and how it can be spread all over the world.
After the walk we gathered in An assembly hall where the speakers talked on SDGS Goals.I also spoke about the importance of Peace,Pakistanis sacrifices for peace & How we all together can make this world a Peaceful & Prosperous place for all.
It was great meeting a superb Malaysian writer & former Ambassador of Malaysia to different countries Mr.Anand.He gifted me 3 of his books and promised to visit Pakistan soon.
After a long day event Jeewaka and team arranged sumptuous lunch and meeting with some new youth.
5th day visited the Colombo University with Mr.Hashim to meet the Dean of Faculty of Arts who is a mutual friend of a Friend from Pakistan & Vice Chancellor of a Pakistani University. It was great privilege meeting the chairperson of Political Science department and discussing about the peace session in collaboration.
Hashim is an active soul with quick learning abilities.We met the University Registrar and then lunch.
After lunch,we visited different diplomatic studies ,Economic Studies and International Relations institute at Colombo.
Late evening, we reached Jlanka Technology to meet Jeewaka and then left for dinner at one of the busiest restaurant in town.
6th day spent the earlier part at Jlanka discussing about the collaboration and MOU and then lunch at a Pakistani Restaurant calls Big Bite followed by meeting with its owner.
In after Jeewaka took me to different places to visit such as Soldiers Memorial & Traditional village museum.It was wonderful having meeting with Jeewaka father who is the most senior Educationist of Sri Lanka and kind hearted person.I loved recording his interview and message for Pakistanis.
We had traditional dinner at restaurant and then was dropped to a bus to Batticolae by Jeewaka and Uzman.
It was the final of day 3 to 6 where Jeewaka remained my active host and guide beside a lot of talks on different ideas.
